BCC improved to 1-2 and plays another road game on Friday, 3 p.m. at Florida State College Jacksonville, which swept BCC in its season-opening doubleheader on Saturday.

Tuesday was a different story as BCC never trailed.

“Starting pitcher Danny Dixon did well enough to keep us in the game even though his stuff wasn’t great,” BCC head coach Jeff Tam said.

Dixon, a lefty, pitched three innings and left with a 4-3 lead.

From there BCC’s bats took care of business.

Designated hitter David King went 5-for-6 for BCC with a double; T.J. Glessner went 3-for-5 with a double and Miguel Frias went 3-for-5 with two doubles.

“The kids came out swinging,” Tam said. “They saw the ball very well. They moved runners in crucial situations, they hit behind runners and they did everything we asked them to do all fall and so far this season.

“Hopefully we can keep it going.”

Right-handed relief pitcher Kenton Hering picked up the win for BCC,while righty Aaron Miller was credited with the save.
