BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Police detectives are looking for leads to help solve a homicide following the discovery a women’s body in Melbourne on Friday.

Melbourne Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Sheridan Shelley said that authorities were summoned to 1433 Albert Drive in Melbourne shortly after noon Friday when a friend of Leah Yoresh, 35, went to check on her.

Shelley said the friend had become concerned after being unable to reach Yoresh by phone.

The friend found Yoresh’s body at the home and called officers.

Shelley said the death is being investigated as a homicide.

“The manner in which death occurred is not yet being released,” Shelley said.
