FIT Women Golfers Begin Spring Season

Panthers Tee Off Again On Tuesday

LAKELAND, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s women’s golf team opened the spring schedule with a 17-over-par opening round of the Lady Moc Classic at The Club at Eaglebrooke on Monday.

The Panthers’ 305 tied the school record for team scoring and score-to-par total.

FIT followed with a second-round 312 to finish day one in a tie for eighth place at a score of 617 in the 17-team tournament.

Senior Jessica Hook recorded an opening-round 73 and followed with a 76 in round two to close out day one in a tie for 10th place.

Freshman Felicia Leftinger followed with a two-round score of 10-over-par and sits in a tie for 23rd.

The Panthers received their two final scores from sophomores Rachel Polson and Jara’ Templet, who shot 155 and 159, respectively.

Three Sunshine State Conference teams occupy the top three spots with Nova Southeastern sitting in the lead position at 590. Lynn (596) and Rollins (606) round out the top three.

Nova Southeastern’s Linnea Johansson paces the pack after the first 36 holes at an even-par 144.

The tournament will conclude Tuesday as the teams tee-off for the final 18 holes.
