Florida Lottery Scratch-Off Tickets Take Record Haul

Over the past quarter century, the Florida Lottery has paid more than $37.7 billion in prizes to winners, enjoyed a mutually-beneficial relationship with more than 13,000 retailers and generated more than $24 billion for education. 

The Florida lottery experienced another record-breaking week of sales in scratch-off tickets, with more than $12.2 million of the proceeds going to education.

Sales of scratch-off tickets totaled more than $65.3 million for the week ending Feb. 24, 2013, which exceeded the previous week’s record of $64.7 million, according to the Florida lottery. The sales totals in each week were the largest recorded in a week since the lottery’s 25-year life.
