Posey To Address Women In Defense Meeting

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Congressman Bill Posey of Rockledge will deliver the keynote address to the next meeting of the Space Coast Chapter of Women In Defense, a National Security Organization and affiliate of the National Defense Industrial Association.

The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 at the Courtyard Marriott in Cocoa Beach.

“Florida’s Space Coast is home to so many brave and talented women serving in our armed forces and supporting the nation’s defense and space industries,” Posey said. “A Space Coast Chapter of Women In Defense will be a valuable resource for both women and men working in national security related areas looking to put new ideas into action, advance technology and create skilled jobs.”

Posey, a Republican, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2008 and succeeded Dave Weldon in the position.

He was re-elected in 2010 and again last fall.

As a former worker on the Apollo Program at Kennedy Space Center, Posey is a strong advocate of the American exploration of space. He is a member of the House Committee on Scioence, Space and Technology and its two subcommittees on Space and Oversight.
