Titans Baseball Evens Record With 9-1 Win

BCC Travels To Ocala For Doubleheader Today

BREVARD COUNTY, FL – Brevard Community College’s baseball team evened its record at 2-2 on Friday by defeating host Florida State College Jacksonville 9-1.

FSCJ had swept BCC in Melbourne last Saturday in the Titans season-opening doubleheader at Bruce Bochy Field.

Sophomore right-hander Taylor Brookes was the winning pitcher for BCC while freshman Chris Gilmore got the save.

Sophomore and Rockledge High graduate Chris Dennis went 3-for-5 with three runs batted in while classmate and Melbourne High graduate Roman Restrepo went 3-for-5 with one run batted in.

BCC had eight hits in scoring nine runs for the second straight game. FSCJ was held to five hits. Each team committed three errors.

“We received stellar pitching and timely hitting,” said BCC head coach Jeff Tam. “The guys made great adjustments at the plate. We just put together a well played game.”

BCC is in action again today playing a doubleheader at Central Florida Community College in Ocala beginning at noon.

The Titans host Daytona State College at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Admission to BCC home games is free.
