BCC Sweeps Palm Beach In Softball Doubheader

Titans Visit Miami Dade On Thrusday

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard Community College’s softball team projected itself back into the Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference race on Saturday sweeping host Palm Beach State 7-6 and 10-0.

The victories improved BCC to 5-3 in the conference and 26-21 overall, putting distance between itself and Palm Beach which fell to 1-6 in conference and Broward College which was 1-5 heading into Saturday.

Nationally top-ranked Indian River State went into Saturday in first place at 5-1 while Miami Dade was second at 5-2. BCC has eight conference games remaining, two each with Indian River, Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, which dropped to 4-33 overall with Saturday’s defeats.

The top three teams in the conference at season’s end advance to the state tournament in Pensacola in May.

BCC has reached the state tournament in eight of the last nine years.

The Titans play a doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m. Thursday at Miami Dade.

Its next home date on the Palm Bay Campus is 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday, April 6 against Broward.
