Crash Kills Motorist On I-95 Near Malabar

Cause Remains Under Investigation

BREVARD COUNTY • MALABAR, FLORIDA – A motorist was killed on I-95 near Malabar late Monday afternoon when his SUV crashed into a concrete guardrail.

Sgt. Kim Montes of he Florida Highway Patrol said James T. Miller of Jacksonville, 59, was driving south on I-95 approaching Mile Marker 160 near Malabar about 5:50 p.m. Monday.

Montes said Miller was in the outside lane when his 2007 Honda SUV failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and left the roadway.

The Honda collided with a crash attenuator at the end of a concrete guardrail on the west shoulder of I-95.

Miller was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne where he died from his injuries.

Montes said he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

She said the crash remains under investigation by troopers.
