Railroad Project To Close Section Of Palm Bay Road

Traffic Halted March 3 to 5 In Area

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Motorists in Palm Bay may encounter some difficulty next week when driving on the east side of town.

Palm Bay Public Information Officer Yvonne Martinez said Palm Bay Road between Main Street and US Highway 1 will be closed for three days as crews perform work in the area.

Commuters will the road closed from  Sunday, March 3 through Tuesday, March 5.

Martinez said that the closure will allow Florida East Coast Railway to perform maintenance work on their rail line.

“Detours will be in place to assist traffic around this area,” Martinez said.

Florida East Coast Railway operates more than 351 miles of mainline track between Jacksonville and Miami.
