BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A disagreement between motorists resulted in a deadly shooting Saturday in Melbourne that claimed the life of a Rockledge man.
Lt. Heath Sanders of the Mebourne Police Department said officers responded about 9:36 a.m. Saturday to an area near Babcock Street and Brevard Drive in Melbourne to a report of a shooting.
Sanders said officers arriving at the scene found one man who had been shot.
Brevard County Fire Rescue also responded to the scene and transported the injured man to Holmes Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Sanders said the victim, John A. Pratt of Rockledge, 64, died from his wounds at the hospital.
Investigators believe an argument over a driving disagreement started the incident.

He has been transported to the Brevard County Jail and remain in custody without a bond until he has his initial appearance before a judge Sunday morning.
Such a tragedy, keep carrying those guns that don’t kill. My prayers and thoughts are with the family.
