BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Officers from the Titusville Police Department responded to a traffic crash on Cheney Hwy at the railroad tracks west of Hopkins Avenue on Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Tom House of the Titusville Police Department said the crash involved a Brevard County School Bus and a Chevy Impala.

House said four students, a bus driver and a bus monitor were riding in the bus at the time of the accident.

He said the Chevy Impala was driven by a woman and she was alone in the car.

The school bus was traveling east on Cheney Highway and was stopped at the railroad tracks which is required by law.

House said Impala was also traveling east and the driver failed to stop and rear-ended the school bus.

There were no injuries to the occupants on the school bus, however the driver of the Chevy Impala was transported to Parrish Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

According to House, a second school bus responded to the scene to transport the children to school.

Charges are pending following the outcome of the crash investigation, House said.

  1. We were there. The girl had a baby in the car with her. Her mom showed up after it happened and was holding the baby. She also didn’t try to stop. There were no tire marks on the road at all. They were able to drive the bus off. We also have pics and video of all of it.
