French Film Festival Coming To Eau Gallie

Free Screening Of "The Red Balloon" On April 5

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – April in Paris comes to the Eau Gallie Arts District next month with an outdoor screening of the French classic The Red Balloon.

The free film under the stars, a partnership of Florida Institute of Technology’s Foosaner Art Museum and Brevard Parks and Recreation, kicks off the museum’s French Film Festival.

French food vendors and entertainment will be on site at the film screening in the park, which coincides with the Eau Gallie District’s First Friday Art Walk.

The festival continues through April 18 with two screenings per week in the Foosaner Art Museum’s Harris Auditorium.

Showings include:

2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, “Jules and Jim

7 p.m.  Thursday, April 11, “Breathless

2 p.m. Saturday, April 13, “L’amour Fou

7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, “Belle de Jour

All the films are New Wave French or relevant to the 1960s, connecting with the museum’s exhibit of works by French photographer Leon Herschtritt, on view from March 16 through May 12.

Admission for each film is $5 and The Red Balloon is free.
