Sgt. Sheridan Shelley said Charles Patrick Ford, Sr., 90, was last seen at about 9:30 p.m. on April 17 by his home in the Tropical Haven retirement community near the Melbourne Airport.

Ford was found by officers in Melbourne late Thursday afternoon.

Shelley said Ford was considered endangered because of a medical condition and doctors had concerns about his physical and mental well-being.

He was driving a green, 1995 Chrysler Town and Country minivan.

Ford was evaluated for a possible medical problem and returned to his family.

Officers had been searching for Ford since early Thursday morning and were concerned he may have been too ill to drive very far from the Melbourne area.
