Cops Seek Beachside Kidnapping Suspect

BREVARD COUNTY • INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH, FLORIDA – Law enforcement authorities are seeking a white male suspect who tried to kidnap a woman from south county beachside Gleason Park last Wednesday.

According to police, the suspect approached the victim from behind and battered her while attempting to force her into an adjacent wooded area. A nearby witness’ actions and screams startled the suspect, who then fled.

The victim told police that she knew her attacker as Sunny Thompson, aka “Sun Man,” and had not communicated with him since last December.

Thompson is a white male approximately 45 years old. He has a cracked front tooth that causes a speech impediment, and he also has a heavy unknown accent. Thompson weighs around 230-240 pounds, has thinning sandy blonde hair and has been seen driving an older model white Mercedes station wagon.
