Melbourne Orchestra Presents Free Concerts

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – With no maypole in sight, the Melbourne Community Orchestra will supply music for the first days of May when it presents Tchaikovsky’s Fifth this week in Melbourne.

The free concerts will start at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1 and Thursday, May 2 at the Melbourne Auditorium at 625 Hibiscus Boulevard in Melbourne.

Music will include the glorious Symphony No. 5 in e minor by the Russian romantic composer as well as his March Slav.

The audience also can look forward to selections from Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld and Superman Returns by John Williams.

Melbourne Community Orchestra president, Jana Doss, knows that Tchaikovsky is an audience favorite.

“This is simply glorious music,” said Doss.  “No one can top Tchaikovsky when it comes to pure passion and emotional color.”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and no tickets are required.
