ABOVE VIDEO: Space Coast Sports Promotions hosts and promotes the AAU Boys Basketball 5th Grade National Championships that will bring more than 7,000 room nights to local hoteliers. Space Coast Sports Promotions has actively managed, operated and/or promoted a vast array of sporting events throughout the Brevard County area including the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympic Games, Amateur Athletic Union National Championships for Boys, Girls, Mens, Women’s Basketball, Baseball and Surfing. Other events include the Special Olympics, Florida Firefighter Games, International Law Enforcement Games, Space Coast Retired Military Golf Classic, and many more.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College is one of eight sites in Brevard County hosting games in the 2013 AAU Boys’ Division I and Division II Fifth Grade National Basketball Championship tournament from Sunday through Saturday, July 14-20.

In addition to Eastern Florida’s Melbourne Campus gym, games will be played at Viera High School, Satellite High School in Satellite Beach, Bayside High and Heritage High, both in Palm Bay, Bethany Christian School and Central Middle School, both in West Melbourne, and Melbourne Central Catholic.

The tournament will involve 104 teams from 27 states including Florida, California, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Utah, New York, Nebraska, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky and Virginia.

The Division II opening ceremonies are set for 5 p.m. Sunday at Viera High with the Division I ceremonies at 7:30.

Ticket prices are $45 for weekly adult passes, $35 for youth, ages 6 to 14. Daily tickets are $13 for adults and $10 for youths. Children under 5 are admitted free. Eastern Florida State College’s Melbourne Campus gym is located at 3865 N. Wickham Road, Building 6.
