Strauss Starts In Alaska Baseball League All-Star Game

Rising junior pitched for South Team Sunday
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Florida Tech’s GJ Strauss, playing for the Peninsula Oilers this summer, was the starting for the South Team in Alaska’s Baseball League All-Star Game last night.
The rising redshirt junior from St. Louis, Mo. is a perfect 4-0 with a 0.96 ERA this summer. He has appeared in five games, started three and pitched 28.0 innings. He has surrendered just 12 hits and four runs, only three have been earned.
LAST SPRING WAS STRAUSS’ FIRST SEASON AS A PANTHER
He has walked 12 and struck out 22. His four wins are tied for second-most in the league and his 0.96 ERA is sixth-best.
Peninsula is in fourth place in the league at 16-13 overall.
Last spring was Strauss’ first season as a Panther after transferring from Western Kentucky.
He appeared in eight games, made one start and recorded a 1-2 record with a 4.03 ERA in 22.1 innings. The right-hander gave up 21 hits and walked 11, while striking out 21.
