DRUGS, FIREARMS FOUND IN SUSPECTS' VEHICLE

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Arrested after today’s shooting at 807 N. Fiske Blvd are Antario Lavon McCoy, 20, of 144 Lynell Lane, Cocoa; and Chasion Thompson, 22, of 1677 Spartan Street in Cocoa.

McCoy was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, aggravated fleeing and eluding, possession of marijuana, driving while license suspended with knowledge, no valid driver’s license and resisting without violence.

Thompson was charged with resisting without violence and trespass.

Additional charges are pending regarding the three handguns found in the vehicle.

BREVARD COUNTY, COCOA • FLORIDA — Two suspects were arrested after a shooting was reported at 807 N. Fiske Boulevard, Cocoa.

According to Cocoa Police Public Information Officer Barbara Matthews, officers located three handguns, spent shell casings, marijauana and crack cocaine in the rented gold Chevy Malibu driven by the suspects.

At approximately 2 p.m.  Cocoa police received a call of shots fired in the parking lot of 807 N. Fiske Boulevard, Cocoa. According to Matthews, Cocoa police were responding to the call when they saw the suspects fleeing the area. Cocoa police followed the vehicle which headed into Rockledge.

SUSPECTS BAIL OUT OF VEHICLE

Police dispatch quickly contacted Rockledge Police Department and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office as the suspects continued to flee.

A Cocoa police vehicle struck the suspect vehicle as the suspects attempted to make a quick turn in front of the police car in the area of Barton Boulevard and US 1.

COCOABADGE-180The two suspects bailed out of the vehicle and ran from police but were quickly apprehended. The officer in the patrol car was not hurt.

According to a release from Cocoa Police Department, witnesses advised police that it appeared that the suspects were shooting at a male who had just exited a store. It is unknown at this time if the male witnesses was struck as police have not been able to locate him. A building and a car in the parking lot were both struck with bullets.

The suspects, names, photos and charges will be released once the suspects have been booked.
