Two Suspects Arrested For Fawlty Towers Murder

First Degree Premeditated Murder charges

ABOVE MAP: A search warrant was executed today at at Alexander Jay Dumont’s residence at 2908 Slippery Rock Drive in Cocoa where Kyle Patrick Berard, 24, also resided. They were both arrested for the murder of Bryan Omar Guerra Martinez on June 28 at Fawlty Towers in Cocoa Beach.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Beach Police Department has announced the arrest of  Alexander Jay Dumont, 23, and Kyle Patrick Berard, 24, for the June 28, 2013 murder of Bryan Omar Guerra Martinez.  

Martinez was discovered in a room of the Fawlty Towers hotel having suffered from multiple gunshots.

According to the Cocoa Beach Police, after weeks of investigation, Cocoa Beach detectives working in conjunction with agents from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, identified Dumont of Cocoa as the shooter in the incident, and obtained a warrant for his arrest on the charges of First Degree Premeditated Murder and Robbery with a Firearm.

Dumont was taken into custody at the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division office in Rockledge without incident.

A search warrant was executed at Dumont’s residence at 2908 Slippery Rock Drive in Cocoa where Kyle Patrick Berard, 24, also resided.

According to the Cocoa Beach Police, investigator’s questioned Berard and subsequently identified him as the second subject involved.

Berard was charged with Principle in the First Degree for Premeditated Murder and Robbery with a Firearm.

Both subjects remain in police custody pending transport to the Brevard County Jail.

“Witnesses reported seeing two white male subjects fleeing the area on foot headed east toward Ocean Beach Blvd,” said Major Jay Harmon in a news release. The subjects were described at 5’6 to 5’7 with a slender build wearing sunglasses and dark clothing.
