Fatal Accident on I-95 in Rockledge

live (1)BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol is responding to a car accident with multiple injuries on Interstate 95 near mile marker 195 at the on ramp for Fiske Blvd.

EVENING UPDATE:According to Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant Kim Montes, Andres Ardila Parra, 21 of Orlando was travelling southbound in a 1997 GMC Van on I-95 in the outside lane. Wiliam Agley, 65 of West Melbourne was driving the second vehicle, a 2008 semi truck. Agley entered I-95 southbound from Fiske Blvd. Parra advised he looked toward his side rearview mirror and observed the semi about to collide with his vehicle. As Parra traveled on the entrance ramp, Parra crossed the safety zone and entered the outside travel lane at a slow rate of speed directly in front of the semi. Agley advised he could not avoid the minivan. The front of the semi collided with the rear of van, causing the van to to rotate clockwise and travel toward the west shoulder. The van overturned and came to rest on the west shoulder.  Yuedi Rodriguez Mora, 21 of New Jersey was ejected from the van and transported to Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, where he  and Parra were each treated for minor injuries. The second passenger, Fabian Duran was airlifted to Holmes Regional in serious condition. A third passenger, listed as a citizen of Costa Rica, was killed, and their name has yet to be released.

3P.M. UPDATE-Florida Highway Patrol Sergeant and Public Affairs Officer Kim Montes reports one fatality, two patients taken by ground to Wuesthoff and one patient airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center. According to Montes, the accident occurred at approximately 1:55 p.m.

Names have not been released.
