The project involved road realignment, installation of underground utilities, new sidewalks and paving from George King Boulevard in front of the Welcome Center to Mullet Road.

It is part of a $6 million Cove Road Development Project, including landscape improvements to the area.

“The end result of this inconvenience to the Port tenants and local residents soon will be offset by the new entry and the soon-to-be completed landscaping improvements and the opening of the Welcome Center this fall,” said Port CEO John Walsh.

“Although Cove construction continues, as we grow and continue to improve, having the new road open and usable is welcomed by all and we are happy to have reached this milestone.”
