3-Car Crash At US 1 and Pineda Sends One to HRMC

SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL WITH CRITICAL INJURIES

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Alfred Walker, 53, of Melbourne, crossed over the raised curb grass median while traveling southbound on US 1 at Pineda Causeway, and collided with two cars traveling in the northbound lanes, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Walker’s 1995 Pontiac collided with a 2008 Saturn driven by Marna Novak and a 2005 Chevy SUV driven by Karen Torpy, just south of the Pineda Causeway.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the front of the Novack’s Saturn struck the rear of Walker, Torpy swerved to the right and struck the metal guardrail on the east shoulder.

Walker was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center and was listed in critical condition.
