BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Melbourne Regional Chamber of East Central Florida will host Dr. Brian Binggeli on Thursday, Sept. 5 who will speak about the challenges and opportunities that exist for Brevard Public Schools and the students they serve.

The breakfast will be held 7 – 9 a.m. at the Radisson Suite Hotel Oceanfront on 3101 N. Hwy A1A in Melbourne.

He will focus on the integration of the Common Core State Standards along with meaningful partnerships with the business community to enhance students’ college and career readiness.

Brevard County includes a school system with over 72,000 students, approximately 9,000 school board employees, and 82 schools, 10 charter schools, and 17 special centers.

Dr. Binggeli became Superintendent of Brevard in July on 2009 and holds a doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech.

Now in his 32nd year in public education, Dr. Binggeli has served in school administration for 21 years and has received numerous awards, including the Star Superintendent Award for the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations in 2011.

Cost to attend this event is $18 for members and $25 after the registration deadline or at the door. The cost for non-members is $35.
