PhyTech founder, Dr. Gopal Gadodia, is a forward thinking, preeminent cardiologist and medical entrepreneur with international education and training who is now located in the southeastern United States.

“Over seven years ago, I saw that EMR (Electronic Medical Records) were inevitable and that EMR was here to stay,” said Dr.  Gadodia.

“I felt that the software products available on the market were deficient and none truly met the needs of the medical community. This motivated me to create medical software products that would meet the needs of physicians and clinicians at large.”

PhyTech promises to provide hospitals, clinics and physician practices with affordable, effective and easy to use software.

The biggest advantage that PhyTech has over most other medical software companies is that the founder of the company is a highly experienced physician. Therefore, the PhyTech software solutions have been specifically designed and created with a deep understanding of the subject matter, as well as for the needs of the end users – the medical professionals.

PRODUCTS DESIGNED BY PHYSICIANS FOR PHYSICIANS

Board Certified in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Gadodia brings a vast knowledge of medicine and patient care acquired during his global medical career. After obtaining his medical degree from SMS Medical College in India, he gained experience and knowledge in places like Ndola in Zambia, and Middlesbrough and Barnsley in England, before coming to the United States.

THE PHYTECH TEAM

In order to manage the project of designing an intelligent user interface, which would not only gather and process data, but would comprehensively display and integrate the information, Dr. Gadodia hired IT expert Dipesh Patel.

Patel is a Management Information Systems (MIS) specialist with an advanced degree from the University of Minnesota. His professional background includes consulting with hospitals, overseeing their vendor assessment and revenue cycles, consulting for Deloitte and starting his own consulting practice.

“We knew that Dr. Gadodia understood exactly what physicians and clinicians need from IT to do their jobs, so we sat down and really listened, to fully understand the IT needs of physicians and clinicians,” said Patel.

“A lot of IT companies seem to take an IT-centric approach in developing their products and fail to listen to the physicians. In a lot of cases, the physicians are not voicing their opinions because they are too busy providing patient care and don’t have time to get involved in the IT design process. So, we had many discussions with Dr. Gadodia and other highly experienced and talented physicians to understand how to design our products, which can be integrated into workflow seamlessly and effortlessly. During the design process of our products, we were fortunate to have day-to-day interaction with physicians like Dr. Shashin Desai and Dr. Gadodia, which has been a huge help. We have been able to design software tools and have medical staff use them, in a real-life medical workplace, to field-test their effectiveness.”

GOALS TO IMPROVE PATIENT CARE

What began as concepts devised by Gadodia, to drive improved productivity and quality in patient care, has evolved into the creation of multiple software solutions for physicians to improve the ways in which they provide patient care.

Physicians and medical professionals who have used or have seen the presentation of the PhyTech products agree that PhyTech's software solutions are intuitive, efficient and easy to interpret for the medical community.

“Our goals are to deliver innovative physician-driven applications, solutions and services to improve patient care,” said Dr. Gadodia. “By enabling improved quality information for physicians, we can maximize doctor-patient time by improving physician productivity.

“As a company, when we first started, our goals were to build products that would create a buzz among the physicians,” said Patel. ”We knew that if we met their needs, that it would grow into the enterprise level with hospitals and larger organizations.”

Once the reporting application was underway, Dr. Gadodia went about tackling the next deficiency that he recognized.

“I could see that my physician friends and colleagues did not have a scheduling software solution that was fully integrated. So, we designed one that would solve their needs and also the needs at the hospital and nursing levels as well.”

CARDIOLOGY, ON-CALL, SCHEDULING REPORTING

The Cardiology Reporting application allows physicians to automate and streamline their reporting work flow by electronic reporting of non-invasive cardiac procedures including Echocardiography, Regular Stress, Nuclear Stress plus Thallium, Nuclear Dipyridamole plus Thallium, Nuclear Lexiscan plus Thallium, Carotid Ultrasound and Vascular Ultrasound.

The On-Call Physician and Clinician Scheduling application is an intelligent, web-based solution that makes creating, organizing and maintaining schedules effortlessness.

‘It allows physicians and clinicians more control by providing real-time access to view and dictate schedule changes, anytime, anywhere,” said Patel.

“It’s key features are rule-based automated scheduling, web access from anywhere, real-time updates and notifications/alerts with mobile application, consolidated hospital-wide call schedules, scalable solutions that can work for a single department up to a multi-location hospital network and it provides intuitive conflict resolution to drive efficiency throughout on call & clinical scheduling functions.”

PROVIDER PORTAL

Without having to flip to multiple tabs and sources of patient information, the Provider Portal gives the physician an easy to read, multi-screen view of patient data, all in one location. The portal automatically gathers data from the labs, from electronic medical records, from notes and other ancillary systems, allowing the physician to view the information easily and efficiently, all the while, reconciling and organizing the information to save time when the patient is discharged.

“In a hospital, there is typically an EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system and many other disparate systems, all with information that the physician needs,” said Dr. Gopal Gadodia.

“In a hospital, there is typically an EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system and many other disparate systems, all with information that the physician needs,” said Dr. Gadodia.

“But the information has to be analyzed by the physician from separate sources. When a physician is treating a patient, he or she has to flip through many tabs and locations to find out the particular details of that patient, such as what medications the patient is on, what are the vitals of the patient and so on. There is a lot of flipping around. Physicians Assistants can spend 30-35 minutes per patient bringing all that information together to save the physician time.

“Our Provider Portal product helps solve those problems. Like a giant crawler, the Provider Portal system essentially automates that process, grabbing data and bringing it all together, on two monitors, divided into four screens. At the end, the discharge of the patient is much quicker and the patient receives a folder with details of their treatment.”

HELPING LARGE AND SMALL ORGANIZATIONS

Dr. Gadodia’s whole mission is to help people become healthier and that is what drives him.

In the ever-evolving medical environment, PhyTech is promising to help physicians and clinicians find an affordable path to improved productivity and quality in patient care.
