HERITAGE (1-0) @ PALM BAY (1-0)

Friday Night Locker Room – Mike Erdman Cadillac Nissan Game of the Week

FNLR-595-090513

Clinton Moxam

Clinton Moxam

This is “Rivalry Weekend” for Heritage and Palm Bay as they meet up for cross-town bragging rights. Heritage Looks like the best team in the county as they have a balanced offensive attack and a great defense. Anything can happen in a rivalry game and Palm Bay has the running game with Sekai Lindsey and Reginald Benjamin to keep the Heritage offense off the field. Look for Josh Harden (Soph, RB), Dedric Witherspoon (Sr, ATH), Clinton Moxam (Sr, QB), and Josh Gaines (Soph, RB) to have a big game.
PREDICTION: Heritage 25, Palm Bay 14

COCOA (0-1) @ EAST  LEE COUNTY (1-0)
Cocoa looked outstanding on defense but could not get the offense going in the loss to Gonzaga last week. The Tigers will need to develop some offensive balance if they hope to compete in a strong Class 4A this year (see full AP Poll below).
PREDICTION: Cocoa 17, East Lee County  13

SCHWAB-TY-180

Ty Schwab

MERRITT ISLAND (1-0) @ MELBOURNE (1-0)
Merritt Island is a team that’s rising in the rankings after beating New Smyrna Beach with a late rally last week. Chris Matthias (Jr, LB) had an INT and fumble recovery for a TD last week. Along with Ty Schwab (Sr, LB), Shaq Jones (Sr, ATH) and John Batch, Merritt Island has a defense that swarms to the ball, gets take-aways and can score. This might be the toughest test for Melbourne this year as they look to remain unbeaten. Melbourne will need a big game from Florida Air Transfers Chris Singh (So, RB) and Dwane Robinson (Sr, QB). Bryson Hill (Sr, RB), Ayshad Thornton (Sr, LB) and Brandon Moon(Sr, LB) will need a team effort to pull the upset.
PREDICTION: Merritt Island 25, Melbourne 14

BAYSIDE (1-0) @ ROCKLEDGE (0-1)
After beating Astronaut 34-21 in the Kick Off Classic, Bayside will open the season against a struggling Rockledge team. Rockledge, who were upset last week against Viera, will try to right the ship against an even tougher defense in the No. 4 ranked Bears. Look for Tomell Onee (Sr, DL) and Greg Miclisse (Sr, LB) to dominate on defense – and Lucious Mckay to have a big night on offense.
PREDICTION: Bayside 33, Rockledge 0

COCOA BEACH (0-1) @ MCC (1-0)
Friday Night Locker Room – Mike Erdman Cadillac Nissan Game of the Week

FNLR-595-090513

Brandon Ziarno threw for four TD’s last week in beating Tomball Christian (TX) 52-0. They will need to keep that scoring pace against Cocoa Beach and Antoine Griffin (Sr, ATH) to stay unbeaten. This should be a good test for MCC to see if they can compete with the bigger Class schools in the county. Brandon Ziarno (Jr, QB) will have another big game.
PREDICTION: MCC 24, Cocoa Beach 23
UPSET ALERT: The Beach will win if MCC doesn’t contain Jamaal Eveillard (Sr., RB).

RITTENHOUSE-180

Nick Rittenhouse

SPACE COAST (1-0) @ EAU GALLIE (1-0)
After beating Pine Ridge 47-0, Eau is off to a 2-0 start to the season after going 2-8 in 2012. The defense has not given up a score all season and will now face one of the best QBs in the county. Nick Rittenhouse (Sr, QB) of Space Coast is having a great senior season with a 34.5 game average on offense. Both teams come in undefeated and look to prove that they are for real in 2013.
PREDICTION: Eau Gallie 27, Space Coast 24

ST. CLOUD (0-1) @ ASTRONAUT (1-0)
Astronaut takes on a St.Cloud team that gave up 39 points to University Orlando last week. Astronaut held off Mount Dora last week 23-13 to remain unbeaten. Look for a huge rushing night for Brandon Wright (Sr, RB).
PREDICTION: Astronaut 30, St.Cloud 7
