RAE KAMEKA’S WEEK 4 TAKE

JENSEN BEACH (2-2) @ HERITAGE (2-0)

Clinton Moxam
Clinton Moxam

Heritage continues to get better and better each week and appears to be the most dominate team in Brevard County – and currently ranked No. 6 in 6A by FloridaHSfootball.com. The Panthers will roll this week versus 1-2 Jensen Beach.
KEY PLAYERS: Heritage – Clinton Moxam (Sr. QB), Josh Gaines (So. RB), Dedric Witherspoon (Sr. ATH). Jensen Beach – Alex Ogle (Sr. QB), Chris Favaroso (Jr. WR)
PREDICTION: Heritage 42, Jensen Beach 7

SCHWAB-TY-180
Ty Schwab

MERRITT ISLAND (3-0) @ ASTRONAUT (2-1)
This game will be televised live on Brighthouse Sports Network Friday at 7pm. Merritt Island and Astronaut will face off in their first district game of the season. The Mustangs come in undefeated featuring great defense. Astronaut is coming off a close loss to Cocoa last week, and the War Eagles will need better production from its offensive line which gave up 10 sacks last week.
KEY PLAYERS: Merritt Island – Ty Schwab (Sr. LB), Shaq Jones (Sr. ATH). Astronaut – JT Hassell (Sr. DE), Tez Keels (Sr. ATH)
PREDICTION: Merritt Island 17 Astronaut 14

COCOA (1-1) @ AMERICAN HERITAGE (2-1)

Freddie Booth-Lloyd
Freddie Booth-Lloyd

Cocoa continues to drop in the polls after only averaging 14 points a game. I hate to penalize such a historically dominate program like Cocoa, but they have not looked dominate thus far this season. Cocoa travels on the road against American Heritage and must find a way to get speedy ATH Jamel Dean the ball more to get its offense going. If American Heritage goes up early, Cocoa could end up with its second road loss in as many tries.
KEY PLAYERS: Cocoa – Freddy Booth-Lloyd (Sr. DT) Jamel Dean (Jr. ATH). American Heritage – Ronnie Smith (Sr. DL/OL)
PREDICTION: Cocoa 21, American Heritage 17

SOUTH FORK (1-2) @ BAYSIDE (3-0)
BAYSIDELOGO-180Bayside will look to start district play with a win over South Fork and continues to be a hard team to figure out. The Bears dominated a good Astronaut team in the Kickoff Classic, then struggles against Rockledge. Depending on what team shows up Friday, this game should be a good barometer of where Bayside is this season.
KEY PLAYERS: Eau Gallie – Torrance Brown (Sr,QB), Antoine Rutledge (Sr. ATH). South Fork – Kody Stripling, (Sr. LB) Blake Lucky (Jr. LB)
PREDICTION: Bayside 28, Southfork 14

MELBOURNE (1-2) @ EAU GALLIE (3-0)

Torrance Brown
Torrance Brown

Eau Gallie will look to remain in unbeaten while Melbourne will try to avoid a three game losing streak. Melbourne could not get anything going on offense vs. Palm Bay last week, and Eau Gallie will use some of the same defensive schemes. If Melbourne has worked out its issues on offense, they could pull the upset.
KEY PLAYERS: Eau Gallie – Torrance Brown (Sr. QB), Antoine Rutledge (Sr. ATH). Melbourne – Dwane Robinson (Sr. QB), Bryson Hill (Sr. RB)
PREDICTION: Eau Gallie 24, Melbourne 21

PALM BAY (1-1) @ ROCKLEDGE (0-3)

Alex Jasmin
Alex Jasmin

Look for Palm Bay to roll in this game. The Pirates have made me a believer in their defense by shutting down Melbourne’s rushing attack. That dominance does not fare well for Rockledge, who will try to run it, run it and run it some more. Rockledge is winless on the season and has one of the toughest schedules this year.
KEY PLAYERS: Palm Bay: Alex Jasmin (Sr. DB), Sekai Lindsey (Jr. RB), Reggie Benjamin (Sr. RB). Rockledge – Jundarius Dukes (Jr., DB).
PREDICTION: Palm Bay 35, Rockledge 10

SPACE COAST (3-1) @ COCOA BEACH (0-3)

Nick Rittenhouse
Nick Rittenhouse

Space Coast has a real shot at making the playoffs this season. Head Coach Jake Owens has his team playing inspired football and lighting up the scoreboard, averaging 42 points a game. Cocoa Beach comes in to this game winless on the season and must figure out how to stop Nick Rittenhouse and this Viper attack.
KEY PLAYERS: Space Coast – Nick Rittenhouse, (Sr. QB), Elijah Milledge (Sr. DE), Alec Danseraus (Jr. WR). Cocoa Beach – Antoine Griffin(Dr. ATH), Jamaal Eveillard (Sr. RB), Marvin Conley (Sr. DB).
PREDICTION: Space Coast 35, Cocoa Beach 14

VIERA (3-0) @ SEBASTIAN RIVER (1-3)

Cody Dentmon
Cody Dentmon

Viera comes into the Top 10 Rankings as the surprise team of the 2013 season. Undefeated and playing great football just in time for district play, the question now is how will they fare against last season’s District Champion? The Hawks have been playing great defense and making big plays on offense. They must continue that effort against a tough district opponent in Sebastian River.
KEY PLAYERS: Tre Nixon (So. WR), Devin Nixon (Jr. ATH), Cody Dentmon (Sr. QB). Sebastian River: Phil Norman (Sr. OL)
PREDICTION: Viera 23, Sebastian River 17
