BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – In remembrance of the 12th anniversary of September 11, Sonata at Melbourne residents paid tribute to firefighters by delivering customized cakes to Melbourne Fire Stations 72, 76 and 77.

The Sonata residents wanted to show appreciation for their dedication and service to our community and country. There was extra significance in the visits as one of the Sonata residents was a former fire chief.

“The Sonata residents wanted to show appreciation for their dedication and service to our community and country,” said Shelley Esden, Sonata Sr. Vice President of Operations. “There was extra significance in the visits as one of the Sonata residents was a former fire chief.”

Esden also said that, although 12 years have passed since the day that changed our country forever, the Sonata residents felt it important to remember and commemorate the event.

“During their discussions on how to reflect upon such a significant day, they determined a meaningful way to do so was by honoring the first responders who are the heroes of our own community.”
