BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA — Members of the Viera/Suntree Area Business Council enjoyed networking, community updates and a presentation from The Viera Company at their quarterly meeting last week.

Scott Miller, Vice President of The Viera Company, spoke in detail about growth plans.

“Right now, Viera is home to 23,000 residents, and more than 120 businesses,” said Miller.

“According to our development plan, upon build out, we could have up to 30,000 homes in Viera.

“An expansion of Wickham Road is scheduled to begin next month.  We will six-lane Wickham Road from Lake Andrew Drive to Murrell Road.  That should make a huge improvement to the local traffic.”

PROPOSED WILDERNESS PARK

Miller also discussed the concept for Viera Wilderness Park.  The proposed project would include 5,260 acres of protected habitat and open space.

“We were really pleased to have a representative from the The Viera Company speak today,” said Christine Michaels, President of the Melbourne Regional Chamber of East Central Florida.

“Viera is a master planned community and they have made tremendous progress in this area. Scott Miller gave council members a sense of where Viera is headed in the future, and that information helps members make better business decisions.”
