Eastern Florida Volleyball Swept At Indian River State

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Eastern Florida State College’s volleyball team dropped a three-set match on Thursday at Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference foe Indian River State College in Fort Pierce.

Statistically for Eastern Florida freshman Mariah Davis leads the team with 71 kills while classmate Arianna Bethel has 63. Davis also leads in digs with 61.
Eastern Florida State College’s volleyball team dropped a three-set match on Thursday at Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference foe Indian River State College in Fort Pierce.

The 12-25, 16-25, 14-25 defeat dropped Eastern Florida to 1-4 in conference and 8-16 overall. Indian River improved to 5-1 and 12-9 with its second sweep of the Titans.

Next up for Eastern Florida is nationally third-ranked Hillsborough Community College (17-1), which visits the Melbourne Campus for a 2 p.m. Friday match. That will be followed by a 6 p.m. Friday re-match with the Webber International junior varsity which beat Eastern Florida in five sets on Sept. 7. Hillsborough and Webber play at 4 p.m.

Hillsborough is the highest-ranked opponent to visit Eastern Florida during head coach Herb Tokumoto’s five-year tenure.

Eastern Florida’s next conference home match is 6 p.m. Tuesday against Palm Beach State, which beat the Titans in five thrilling sets on Sept. 17. That will be followed by a Saturday, Oct. 12 match at St. Johns River, which swept the Titans on Sept. 28, and then an Oct. 15 visit from conference-leading and 11th-ranked Miami Dade, which beat the Titans in four sets on Sept. 19.
