Florida Tech Breakfast Seminar Set For Oct. 10

MELBOURNE • BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Florida Institute of Technology’s Nathan M. Bisk College of Business Center for Ethics and Leadership will host a breakfast seminar Oct. 10, from 7:45 to 9 a.m., in the Denius Student Center’s Hartley Room on campus.
The theme of this year’s program is ethics and leadership in athletics. Brevard County’s Sheriff Wayne Ivey will be the keynote speaker. This event is free and open to Florida Tech staff, faculty, students and alumni.
As a law enforcement officer for 31 years, Sheriff Ivey has helped establish programs that have become recognized at state and national levels, and have been adopted as model programs across the country.
They include the Child Abduction Response Team (CART), Law Enforcement Getting Identity Thieves (LEGIT), Gang and Major Epidemic of Violence Enforcement Response (GAMEOVER) and Specialized Multi-Agency Review Team (SMART).
He is also a member of several organizations including the Brevard County Chiefs of Police Association, United Way Campaign Committee, Cocoa Rotary Board of Directors, Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors, and YMCA Titusville Board of Directors.
Sheriff Ivey now resides in Mims, Fla., with wife Susan Ann. He graduated from Brevard Community College with an associate’s degree in criminal justice and from Daytona State College with a bachelor’s degree in management and supervision. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
