Junior Achievement Calls For Hall of Fame Nominations

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Nominations are currently being accepted for the Junior Achievement of the Space Coast (JASC) Business Hall of Fame.  

“To be considered as a Business Hall of Fame Laureate an individual’s record of business achievement must demonstrate business excellence, courageous thinking and actions, vision and innovation, inspiring leadership, and community mindedness,” said Kristin Schreiner, president of the Junior Achievement of the Space Coast.

Laureates selected for the 2014 JASC Business Hall of Fame will be inducted on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at a gala event held at the Hilton Melbourne Rialto.

Since 1986, Junior Achievement of the Space Coast has inducted such notable individuals as Joseph H. Wickham, Jesse J. Parrish, Jr., W. Lansing Gleason, B.W. “Bernie” Simpkins, Dr. Maxwell C. King, Joseph Duda and John Hopkins.

Notable Laureates from the Space Coast, Wayne Huizenga of Blockbuster Entertainment Group and Al Neuharth of USA TODAY/FLORIDA TODAY, went on to be inducted into the US Business Hall of Fame.

In 2013, Junior Achievement recognized Catherine Ford of Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy and Robin Fisher of Robin L. Fisher Insurance Agency, Inc. and Brevard County Commissioner, District 1.

Junior Achievement of the Space Coast is Brevard County’s organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy.

Through a dedicated volunteer network, JASC provides in-school and after-school programs for students which focus on three key content areas: work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. Today, JASC reaches more than 9,000 students in Brevard County.
