Pedestrian Hit by Car In Melbourne

VICTIM IN CRITICAL CONDITION

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA — According to Melbourne Police Department, a pedestrian was struck by a car on Hibscus Blvd. at about 7:30 p.m. tonight.

BREAKING-NEWS-SCD-180-13The Melbourne Police Department responded to a serious traffic crash involving a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle located at the intersection of Hibiscus Blvd. and Medical Park Drive.

The driver, 53 year old Christina Turner of Palm Bay, was traveling eastbound on Hibiscus Boulevard when the victim, 52- year-old Robert Babcock of Melbourne, stepped out into the roadway in front of the oncoming vehicle.

Several witnesses delivered aid to Babcock until first responders arrived. Babcock remains in critical condition at Holmes Regional Medical Center.

There are no charges pending in this case.
