SCAT’s Bus Route Will Provide Assistance To Seniors

Seniors have a new route to One Senior Place

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Seniors have another way to get to One Senior Place in Viera, with the addition of the new bus Route 7 and bus stop adjacent to the senior resource facility at 8085 Spyglass Hill Road.

The new Rockledge/Viera bus route by Space Coast Area Transit began October 14th and will service the area with multiple stops, including One Senior Place.

The route provides a welcome option for seniors who might otherwise have to depend on a friend or family member for transportation.

The reduced fare for seniors over 60 years of age is just sixty cents per ride. The new Route 7 will operate Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM until 6:00 PM.

A BOON FOR SENIORS

One Senior Place Director,Kathi Ridner, thinks the new bus stop is a boon for seniors who might otherwise be unable to attend the dozens of informational events presented annually by the resource provider.

“The new bus stop is really great,” said Ridner.

“SCAT has given a booster shot of independence to seniors; providing a way for them to easily reach One Senior Place or any of the doctors’ offices near us.”

One Senior Place is a marketplace for resources and provider of information, advice, care and on-site services for seniors and their families.
