Conference Championship set for Oct. 26

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Coming off a fourth-place finish at the UT Pre-Regional Sept. 27, Florida Tech has its sights on Friday’s Florida State University Invitational, set to begin at 6:45 p.m. at the Apalachee Regional Park course.

Justin McMaster led the Panthers at the UT Pre-Regional, coming in fifth among NCAA Division II runners at 26:59.10.

David Boiywo was the team’s second fastest runner at 28:04.40 for 35th place. Ezekiel Zauner capped off FIT’s top three at 28:06.40 for 38th place.

Among the teams the Panthers will see on Friday are NCAA Division I programs Florida A&M, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, USF, Louisiana-Lafayette and host Florida State. Some of the top teams from NCAA Division II’s South Region will join FIT, including Alabama-Huntsville, West Florida, Tampa and Florida Southern.

After Friday’s race, the Panthers will prepare for the Sunshine State Conference Championship on Oct. 26, hosted by Saint Leo.
