FIT’s women’s cross country team remained at No. 6 in its rankings.

The last race for the Panthers was the University of Tampa Pre-Regional last Friday at Brandon Trails. The men ran an 8K and the women ran a 5K. The men’s team placed fourth, which boosted their ranking in this week’s poll.

Justin McMaster came within less than a second of besting a personal record time he set his freshman year, running an 8K time of 26:59.10.

CONSISTENT PERFORMANCES INSURE HIGH RANKING

The women’s team’s consistent performances allowed it to hold onto its sixth place ranking from last week.

FIT’s next race will be the Florida State Invitational on Oct. 11 in Tallahassee, Fla. It will be the last race before the Sunshine State Conference Championship at Saint Leo on Oct. 26.
