Spooktacular Halloween Event
ABOVE VIDEO: The Chardon Polka Band from Cleveland, Ohio, will headline at the Viera Fall Festival & Oktoberfest, on both Saturday and Sunday. The innovative and talented band, will entertain young and old at the festival, with their colorful twist to the traditional genre of the polka.
BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA — The Viera Fall Festival & Oktoberfest concludes today as it brings seasonal, family fun to the heart of Brevard in Viera.
“We’re excited to be able to bring this fun, family event to Brevard County this October,” said Joane Dowd, of the Viera Company, who is sponsoring the festival.
“The event will have something for the whole family.”
This community event is sponsored by The Viera Company, Bright House Networks, Savings Safari, Brevard Physicians Network, Florida Pain, SpaceCoastDaily.com and Space Coast Medicine & Active Living magazine.
THREE DAY FESTIVAL
The outdoor, threeTHIS-day festival, will take place on the property owned by the Viera Company, in the heart of Viera, located just east of the Brevard County School Board building and across the street from the Brevard County Government Center.
“The location is ideal and it is easily accessible from all over Brevard ,” said Connie Diehl of Brevard Productions, which is coordinating and managing the festival.
ARTS & CRAFTS
The event will include many arts and crafts vendors who will exhibit and sell their creations including oil paintings, handcrafted leather goods, homemade candles, custom woodwork furniture, and much more. There will be something for every taste and decor.
There will also be a business showcase, where local vendors can exhibit and offer their goods and services.
There will also be a Craft Fair at the Viera Regional Community Center right next to the Viera Fall Festival. That event is on Saturday from 9 am until 2 pm.

CARNIVAL RIDES AND MIDWAY – ALL THE FUN OF THE FAIR
There will be fun thrill rides for children and adults as well as all the fun of the fair with games of skill and concessions.
Enjoy a Ferris Wheel, the Bumper cars and much more as the fair comes to Viera. Ride tickets may be purchased to enjoy one or as many rides as you like.
PUMPKIN CONTESTS
The Church of Viera will provide a Pumpkin Patch with pumpkins for sale during the festival. On Sunday at 3 p.m the Childrens Decorated Pumpkin Contest will happen for children Under 12 years of age. People may purchase a pumpkin at the event or bring one from home.
The adult Carved Pumpkin Contest will happen at 3 15 p.m. Pumpkins may be purchased in advance of the festival at the Church of Viera, at other local stores, area pumpkin patches and on Saturday and Sunday at the festival.
People entering the Pumpkin contests should prepare their pumpkins in advance and bring them to the main stage at 2:00p.m on Sunday for display and then judging. All sales proceeds will benefit the Church of Viera Youth programs.

FOOD, FOOD, FOOD TRUCKS
Many colorful food trucks will be parked offering a wide variety of delicious American and international foods and desserts including German fare.
A wide variety of German and American beers and cocktails will also be available around the festival and in the German Beer Garden tent.
The tent will be lined with long banquet tables with German style tablecloths and benches to create a “Hoffbrauhaus” theme inside the large tent. Warsteiner will be providing German brews, yards of ale and souvenir boots of favorite German beers.

HOPE 4 HEROES WALK
As part of the Hope 4 Heroes Walk Series, there will be a sponsored walk on the foot path that circles the festival area at 9am with registration at 8am. The fun walk is open to the public and all funds raised go to assist our faithful troops. All people entering the walk will also be entered into a raffle for valuable prizes donated by local businesses sponsoring Hope for Hero’s.

OKTOBERFEST HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR SHOW UNDER THE BIG TOP.
There will be a large pavilion tent erected within the festival where people can sit and enjoy some great food, refreshing drinks and live authentic German entertainment. The Beetlejuice & Graveyard Ghoul Tribute Show will take place on Friday and Saturday evenings including all your favorite Halloween characters of Dr. Hankenstein, Beetlejuice, Bride of Beetlejuice and the Graveyard Ghoul Band. LIVE GERMAN MUSIC ON FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY
The festivities begin on Friday, October 25th at 6pm with carnival rides, great food and great German music. On Saturday, October 26 at 10 a.m. there will be German themed music provided by Heir Dan and Mz Suzan. The Chardon Polka Band will perform their highly entertaining brand of polka music and adaptive sounds on Saturday and Sunday.

The Chardon Polka Band is known for being innovative and extremely adaptive with the ability to please almost any audience; whether it be 20-somethings at a college hang-out or the patrons of a local senior center.
In their nine years together, the band has made a name for itself by adding a colorful twist to the traditional genre of the polka.

The Chardon Polka Band is not your average polka band. They are a group that brings new life and energy to this traditional music. While the group has an extensive catalogue of traditional polkas, they are not afraid to bring their own tunes into the mix along with polka-pop covers of artists like Justin Bieber and Lady Ga Ga.
The band got their start in the Cleveland music scene; playing countless area fairs, festivals, and venues. While remaining very active in Cleveland, the band can often be found taking their music on the road and performing at a variety of events across the east.
From performing at an NFL game to headlining for some of the largest Oktoberfests in the nation to opening for the prestigious Cleveland Orchestra; the band loves pleasing crowds anywhere and everywhere.
Despite the band’s sometimes gruff appearance, this delightfully eccentric gang is both friendly and outgoing. They are among the greater Cleveland area’s most recognizable performers at local parks, festivals, parades, parties and fund-raisers, and still perform regularly at local nursing homes.
The polka band has a faithful fan base, ranging from senior citizens to small children, teens, and twenty-somethings.
Ohio isn’t the only place that these polka punks are a hit. The band has become a well known act in the fall “Oktoberfest circuit”, headlining at some of the nations largest Oktoberfest events. This includes festivities in Indianapolis (IN), Helen (GA), Chicago (IL), Myrtle Beach (SC), Vernon (NJ) and many more.
The band also travels throughout the nation playing various other festivals and events. Their showmanship and humor has won them many fans outside the polka genre. The Chardon Polka Band is happy to take part in continuing the Cleveland polka tradition while adding their own unique edge and antics to the genre.

CHILDREN’S HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST PRESENTED BY THE BREVARD COUNTY CATHOLIC SCHOOLS & THE SMILE DESIGN CENTER OF VIERA.
At 3 p.m, under the big top on the main stage, Brevard County Catholic Schools and The Smile Design & Implant Center, present the Children’s “Wizard of Oz” Halloween costume contest. Children of all ages may enter , where all children entering the contest will be recognized and will receive a ribbon for entering.
There will be trophies and prizes for the top three winners in both the children’s division (Under 12) or in the Adult Division. Children and adults may enter using the theme of the Wizard of Oz or as any other character. The only restriction is your imagination and the more creativity the better.

ABOVE VIDEO: Suzanah Free will perform a tribute show to German Pop Icon Andrea Berg.
At 5 p.m there will be a live, Andrea Berg Tribute Show. Andrea Berg is a famous and beloved European pop music performer, who is one of the most popular modern day entertainers in Germany.
Suzanah Free will perform the tribute to Andrea Berg and bears an uncanny resemblance to the world-renowned pop singer as well as performing her favorite songs perfectly.
At 5 p.m, D.J Amsterdan will entertain the crowd with popular European Music, along with all the best German “Chicken-Dance” songs, to keep the celebration going into the night.
At 7 p.m there will be an adult Halloween Costume Contest hosted by none other than Hankinstein. All people entering the contest will be interviewed on the Hoffbrauhaus stage and winners will receive valuable prizes and trophies for the most popular ghoulish get-up.

At 8 p.m there will be the Frightnight Spooktacular Party hosted by Beetlejuice and the Graveyard Ghouls Tribute Show. The show will feature many of your favorite Halloween characters singing all the great Halloween musical favorites.
At 9 p.m, D.J Amsterdan will start the Oktoberfest Jam by playing all the current dance music hits to pump up the party.
At 9 30 p.m, the Yodelers Contest starts, where anyone with a talent for Yodeling can enter this fun, gut busting contest to win the Yodelers trophy and bar tab.
STEIN HOLDING – MASSKRUGSTEMMEN CONTEST
“Masskrugstemmen,” which translates loosely to the lifting of a liter mug of beer, is a well-known and a competitive Bavarian sport. The “Masskrug,” a 1 Liter Stein is held with one arm, completely stretched out and parallel to the floor. The Masskrugstemmen Contest will follow the Yodeling. Strong men and women can show their talent for holding a brimming stein, as long as humanly possible, at arms length, for bragging rights, a trophy and a bar tab. Bring your strength and test your skills in the MASSKRUGSTEMMEN – challenge your friends to enter this exciting stein lifting competition; you could be the 2013 champion!
MISS OKTOBERFEST CONTEST
A real crowd pleaser-teaser, will be the Miss Oktoberfest Contest. Ladies young and young-at-heart are invited to don their most beguiling, authentic German Fraulein costume to enchant the judges with their creativity. Judges will also include attitude, party spirit and enthusiasm in their scoring of each beautiful contestant for Miss Oktoberfest 2013, as they are interviewed on the official Hoffbrauhaus stage at 10 p.m. The winner will receive cash, a trophy, official winners silk sash and a bar tab.
After the lovely Miss Oktoberfest has been crowned, the party will rage on with DJ Amsterdam leading the party fun.
SUNDAY FUN
The Viera Fall Festival opens at 11 a.m. on Sunday with more arts and crafts exhibits, great food, and cool beverages. The oom pah pah, German house music begins promptly at 11 a.m and there will be live German band from 1 p.m. until 5pm inside the Hoffbrauhaus beer garden tent.
The Viera Fall Festival is sure to be a big family hit. With so much to offer from arts and crafts, games, live entertainment and delicious food, everyone will enjoy this annual fun-filled Viera Fall Festival and authentic German celebration.
