BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Women’s Center in Brevard will be hosting, “Interpersonal Terrorism: When Love Hurts” on Friday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront.

President of the North Guild of the Women’s Center, Rachel Terry has also focused on raising money for an organization she considers critical to the community. Terry’s devotion to the work of the Women’s Center stemmed in part from a tragedy that hit too close to home after a Parrish employee was murdered by a family member.

Sponsored by TD Bank, Sheriff Wayne Ivey will be the opening keynote speaker.

With a broad focus on many types of violence, conference topics will include, domestic violence, impact of family violence on children, stalking and interpersonal violence among adolescents.

A panel discussion will address critically important issues faced by teenagers today including cyber bullying and cyber stalking.  The luncheon program will feature two ladies sharing their compelling personal stories of surviving interpersonal violence. Registration is required.
