BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Brevard Zoo offers free admission to military veterans and active-duty service members Veterans Weekend – Nov. 8 to 11

Brevard Zoo will offer free admission to military veterans and active-duty service members Friday through Monday, Nov. 8 to 11. The Zoo will also provide free admission to spouses in the event the active-duty service member is deployed overseas. Veterans Weekend is sponsored by Harris Corporation.

Please note, Brevard Zoo will close early Saturday, Nov. 9 at 3:30 p.m. to prepare for JAZZOO. Paws On will close at 3 p.m. The last admission Saturday, Nov. 9 is 2:30 p.m.

Proof of military service is required for free admission. Accepted identification includes U.S. Uniform Services Card (active/reserve/retired), Current Leave and Earning Statement, Veteran Identification card, Veteran’s Organization Card (American Legion, VFW, etc.), a photograph in uniform, wearing a uniform or DD214.

The Zoo is home to more than 650 animals representing more than 165 species located in Florida, South America, Africa, Asia and Australia and accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

The Zoo features many extraordinary animal experiences including giraffe and lorikeet feedings, African kayak tours, paddle boats in the wetlands and a train ride.

Brevard Zoo is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last admission is at 4:15 p.m. Treetop Trek is open daily at 9 a.m.

Twenty-five cents of every admission to Brevard Zoo supports the Zoo’s conservation projects through Quarters for Conservation.

Brevard Zoo is a half-mile east of I-95 at exit 191 on Wickham Road in Melbourne – 25 minutes from the Melbourne International Airport and 45 minutes from the Orlando International Airport.
