FWC Officer Finds Lost Hunter With K-9 Zeus Help

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — When a hunter went missing, one of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission‘s trusty K-9 teams was called to help.

Officer Caitlyn Kirkland and her K-9 partner Zeus found the hunter after he had been lost for hours in the John G. and Susan H. Dupuis Jr. Wildlife Management Area located in Martin and Palm Beach counties.

The hunter had provided some information on his location before his cell phone went dead. The K-9 team walked over a mile into the woods before they found fresh foot sign in the area. Then, Zeus was able to pick up the hunter’s track and take Officer Kirkland straight to him.
