UPDATE: Two Killed In Motorcycle – Bicycle Accident

UPDATE: SUNDAY, NOV. 17, 2013, 7 p.m.

The motorcyclist who was killed yesterday has been identified as Quinn Stinson, 25, of Palm Bay.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the owner of white vehicle that ran over Stinson contacted FHP this afternoon to determine if their SUV was the one that troopers were looking for from last night’s fatal crash.

Troopers have taken a white 2005 Toyota SUV into their possession as the suspect vehicle and will send evidence to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement lab to be tested to confirm that this was the vehicle involved. The owner of the vehicle is cooperating with troopers.

This crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling westbound on U.S. 192 in the inside lane when a bicyclist was attempting to cross westbound U.S. 192 from the north to the south side of the road.

The bicyclist was struck when it traveled into the direct path of motorcycle. Both riders were ejected, and as the motorcycle rider lay in the inside, westbound lane of U.S. 192, an unknown white pickup truck ran over the motorcyclist and left the scene.

The bicyclist, Timothy Robinson, 50, of West Melbourne received fatal injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The motorcyclist’s identity is being withheld upon notification of next-of-kin.

Anyone with any information on the white pickup truck is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol as this crash remains under investigation.
