BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Winners have been announced for the local championship of the 2013 Hyperflite Skyhoundz Canine Disc Championships held Saturday, Oct. 19 at Palm Bay Regional Park.

Eleven canine/human teams competed in the novice division and eight teams competed in the competitive division of this distance/accuracy event.

The winners in the novice division were: in third place, Allie, a Border Collie and owner Thomas Lasko from Melbourne, with a total of 8 points; second place, Honda, an Australian Shepherd and owner Rip Dyal from Cocoa, with 9 points; and first place, Brigs, a Boxer and owner Jonathan Cothran from Coconut Grove, with 13 total points.

In the competitive division the winners were: third place, Hondo, an Australian Shepherd and owner William Kowalczyk from Cocoa, with 13.5 points; second place was Cooper, a Weimaraner and owner Mark Petrillo from Melbourne, with a score of 15; and first place in the competitive division went to Hondo, an Australian Shepherd and owner Mary Kowalczyk from Cocoa, with a total of 19 points.
