Doublewide Trailer Fire In Mims Displaces Family

BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – Brevard County Fire Rescue transported a man to Parrish Medical Center on Thursday morning after he was injured while escaping a home fire, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.

He has since been treated and released.

The double-wide trailer on Nab Street in Mims was heavily involved with fire when crews arrived at about 9 a.m.

Eleven units were dispatched, including from Titusville Fire and Emergency Services, and 20 personnel from nine units worked the scene. Firefighters knocked the fire down in 20 minutes.

The man and three minors, who were in school at the time, have been displaced. The home was a total loss with 75 percent of the structure destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by Brevard County Fire Rescue and State Fire Marshal.
