BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – In the efforts of helping homeless pets find loving and caring homes and to help make Brevard County a “no-kill county”, the Central Brevard Humane Society’s recently opened Merritt Island Adoption Center has reached a milestone by adopting 100 pets into new “forever” homes – most of them cats.

This year alone the Humane Society has had 560 cats dropped off at their shelter and adoption center in hopes of finding new companions (cats out number dogs in animal shelters 3 to 1).

To help more cats find “dream” homes before the end of the year, the Humane Society will be reducing the adoption fees for adult cats one year and older to $25.00 (50 percent savings), starting December 13 through 31, at both their locations in Cocoa and Merritt Island.
