BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech redshirt sophomore men’s basketball player Corbin Jackson and junior women’s basketball player Kayk Wilson were chosen this week’s Panther Student-Athletes of the Week for the period of Dec. 2-8 on Monday.

Wilson, a humanities major from Viera, Fla., averaged 19 points with 4.5 rebounds, four steals and one assist in two games last week and ackson, a business administration major from Rockledge, Fla., led the Panthers to their first Sunshine State Conference victory of the season on Dec. 7 against Lynn.

He poured in 21 points with 17 rebounds, four blocks, one assist and one steal in 38 minutes. The double-double was his seventh of the season and he has one triple-double in nine games. Jackson brought the Clemente Center crowd to its feet with a thunderous dunk over a Lynn defender in the first half. She steered the women to a non-conference 58-47 victory at Palm Beach Atlantic with 11 points, six steals and five rebounds. A few days later against Lynn, she tied her career-high in points scored for the second time this season with 27. She connected on her first four three-pointers and finished the game with six three-pointers made.

Both basketball teams have this week off for finals. They will return to the Clemente Center floor on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
