McNair, Golfview schools go into lockdown

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – McNair Middle School and Golfview Elementary School went into lockdown this morning at about 11:30 a.m. for almost an hour in response to an alert that there were armed men in the area.

According to the Cocoa Police Department, officers responded to a call that a group of armed men were seen in a vehicle, who then exited and fled near Fiske Boulevard in Rockledge.

One man was taken into custody, and a second suspect is being sought by police.

According to the Cocoa Police Department, the men were suspected of breaking into a house on South Kentucky Avenue.
