“We have selected and are presenting 12 dogs and 12 cats for our ‘Twelve Strays of Christmas’ promotion,” said Paula Hunter, the South Animal Care Center manager.

“Each of these animals will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and have a county license tag, all for $12 through the month of December,” she continued. Animals not on the special will be half price.

“These ‘Twelve Strays,’ just like the many other animals that we have at the shelters, are ready to provide loving companionship to someone,” said Hunter. “So much emphasis is put on helping others during the Holiday season, and I hope that people also remember these wonderful animals.”

Department Director Karla Torpy reports that her staff has done a fabulous job and worked very hard all year long on innovative programs to help place dogs and cats with loving families and educate people about the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. “;I urge anyone who is thinking of bringing a new pet home for the holidays to visit either or both of the county shelters first,” she said.
