Apollo 1 Memorial Service Set For Jan. 27

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The Astronaut Memorial Foundation will hold a memorial service in the memory of Apollo 1 Command Pilot Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom, Senior Pilot Edward H. White II and Pilot Roger B. Chaffee.

The foundation invites you to join them for a moment of silence at the Space Mirror Memorial at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to salute these brave pioneers.

During the ceremony, the name of each fallen hero will be read aloud and a bell will toll. The riflemen of the honor guard will fire a salute. Guests of the visitor center will be invited to lay a flower at the memorial.
