Kangaroo Express in mims robbed Jan. 15

ABOVE VIDEO: According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, a black male suspected as Billy Lynch entered the Kangaroo Express located at 3164 W. Main Street in Mims, vaulted the counter, brandished a handgun and demanded money.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – GAMEOVER agents of the Brevard Sheriff’s Office arrested Billy Lynch, 29, today in connection with the armed robbery that occurred on Jan. 15 at the Kangaroo Express, located at 3164 W. Main Street in Mims. 

Lynch’s suspected accomplice, LeQuan Mayo, 20, was arrested on Jan. 15 by Sheriff’s Deputies shortly after the robbery was committed.

BRANDISHED A HANDGUN

On Jan. 15, an unknown black male entered the Kangaroo Express, now suspected to be Lynch, brandished a handgun and demanded money.

The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of currency before departing the store, where he was observed entering an awaiting vehicle driven by another male, suspected to be Mayo, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s office.

North Precinct patrol deputies then observed the vehicle and arrested Mayo after a brief chase.

Mayo was charged with Principle to Robbery with a Firearm, Resisting without Violence, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding and Driving while License Suspended Revoked with Knowledge.

GENERAL CRIMES AGENTS LOCATE EVIDENCE

After recovery of the vehicle, North Precinct General Crimes Agents obtained a search warrant and located several items of evidence. Agents then identified Lynch of Cocoa as the robbery suspect who had fled the scene and avoided arrest, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Earlier today, agents obtained an arrest warrant for Lynch for Armed Robbery with a Firearm and the Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

GAMEOVER agents located Lynch at the Hess Station on State Road 520 in Cocoa, where he was apprehended without incident. Lynch is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail Complex on an $86,000 bond.
