BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Basketball players Jessica Doyle and Torrance Rowe are the Eastern Florida State College Female and Male Student-Athletes of the Month respectively for January.

Doyle, a freshman guard from Palm Bay, FL and Heritage High, is Eastern Florida's leading scorer averaging 17.4 points per game; is the leading free throw shooter at 84.8 percent; is second on the team in three-point shooting percentage at 32.4 and second in overall field goal percentage at 38.2. Rowe, a sophomore from Atlanta, GA and Central Park Christian, leads Eastern Florida in scoring at 13.5 points per game. Rowe also put together a streak of three games in which he was Eastern Florida’s leading scorer and one in which he was second-highest.

ROWE HAD A TEAM-HIGH 18 POINTS ON JAN. 8

He had a team-high 18 points on Jan. 8 in an 80-65 victory over Indian River State College; had a team-high 15 on Jan. 11 in a 78-70 victory over Daytona State; had a game-high 23 points on Jan. 15 in an 82-73 victory over Palm Beach State; and was the second-leading scorer with 16 points on Jan. 18 in an 86-72 victory over Miami Dade College.
