BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Ashton Fronsoe threw 7.0 innings of three-hit ball en route to a 5-1 victory over Southeastern Florida (6-4) in game one of a doubleheader and Natasa Vukovic earned victories in singles No. 2 and doubles No. 2 (with Kristina Huba) over Flagler College (0-1).

Fronsoe (1-0) struck out four and had command of all of his pitches on Saturday, allowing just three Fire hitters to reach first base.

One unearned run came around to score but it would not be enough for Southeastern as Fronsoe earned his first victory as a Panther.

He leads FIT with two saves and has a 0.60 earned run average in 20.0 innings. The Panthers cracked the top 25 of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top-25 Poll on Tuesday, placing No. 16 with a 8-1 record.

Vukovic, a sophomore transfer from 2013 NCAA Division II Women’s Tennis Champion Armstrong Atlantic University, dominated in her singles match, earning a straight set win over Flagler College’s Esther Santiago, 6-1, 6-1 after teaming with Huba to down Santiago and Hanna Goettsching in doubles No. 1, 8-3.

The duo is currently ranked No. 19 in the ITA National Rankings and No. 6 in the South Region. The Panthers (2-2) are ranked No. 15 nationally with the newest rankings coming out tomorrow evening. FIT has defeated No. 30 Palm Beach Atlantic (1-1) and Flagler in the spring. Vukovic is 2-2 in the spring and 6-3 overall this season.

The Panthers head to No. 22 University of Tampa on Feb. 22.
